Born Friday, December 27, 1929 in Benton, KY, he was the son of the late Reggie and Wilma (Jones) Jones. He was a member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church and he served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Bobbie loved country and gospel music. He could play several different instruments, but his favorite was his electric fender guitar. He played in a couple of bands and played somewhere just about every weekend. He was one of the best lead guitar players in West Kentucky.
He is survived by his daughter, Katana York husband Russell of Benton, KY; grandchildren, Kyle Sirls of Nashville, TN, Kassandra Gillmore of Benton, KY, Mitchell Sirls of Benton, KY, Michelle McNeely husband Jimmy of Benton, KY; Donald Sirls wife Tammie of Calvert City, KY; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Sue Mitcherson husband Billy of Benton, Ky, Patricia Pigg husband Don of Benton, KY; brothers, Wayne Jones of Murray, KY and Harold Jones wife Patricia of Hardin, KY.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jackie Beth (Bourland) Jones; son, Glenn Stephen “Steve” Jones; grandson, Jared Linn Pritchett; brother, RH Jones; son in law, Donnie Sirls; and two great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Union Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Samantha Hall officiating. The day and time of the service will be updated as that information becomes available to us.
There will be no public visitation.
