A call Saturday, July 9, 2022 of two suspicious persons led to the arrest of a Cuba man for burglary. At approximately 1:40 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022, Deputy John Cavin was dispatched to a call of two suspicious persons coming out of a barn in the 14000 block of KY 97, just south of Tri-City. The reporting party directed Deputy Cavin to a barn on his property where Deputy Cavin located Larry Keene, 28 of Cuba, and a male juvenile standing in the area of the barn they were reportedly seen in. Keene stated that he was in the area looking for arrowheads and that he had not entered the barn in question. Further investigation inside the barn revealed evidence that Keene had in fact been inside the barn and had also damaged a wall in the barn and cut several pieces of cooper pipe out of the damaged wall. Evidence of the theft including tools, pieces of cut pipe and damaged cinder blocks were located inside the barn and also in an area of tall grass outside of the barn and in Keene’s vehicle.
Larry Keene was arrested for Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree and Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
The male juvenile was released to his guardian and charges against him are pending.
Deputy Cavin was assisted by Deputy Davant Ramage.
