Contractor to start night work on Monday evening
PADUCAH, Ky. (June 17, 2022) – Interstate 24 westbound continues to be restricted to one-lane at the 49 to 45 mile marker in Lyon County due to damaged concrete pavement.
This work zone is along I-24 Westbound in southern Lyon County from near the Lyon-Caldwell County Line to the Eddyville-Princeton KY 293 Exit 45 Interchange.
The contractor has completed an initial round of work. To avoid the extreme heat expected next week, the contractor plans to move to night work starting Monday, June 20. This work zone is expected to be active at night for about 3 to 4 weeks anytime weather allows.
Westbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 49 mile marker. All traffic is moved to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone.
There is no impact to eastbound traffic.
KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely updates as work progresses.
