On 6/13/22, our agency opened a theft case, involving a utility trailer. A nearby business had surveillance cameras that captured the suspects vehicle. After posting pictures of the vehicle on our FB page, dispatch received a tip on a location of a van matching the description. As a result of the investigation, Robert Baker was determined to be a suspect. After speaking with Baker, he admitted to borrowing the van and committing the theft. On 06/14/22, the trailer was returned to its owner. Robert Baker, 75, of Benton, was charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking $500 < $1,000 and Operating on a Suspended License. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. We would like to thank everyone for sharing our post and for all the tips.
