On Monday, May 23rd, 2022, at 10:00am, detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 24, eastbound, at the 9-mile-marker. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 32-year-old Lawrence Sparks of Benton, KY. Sparks was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernlia. Sparks was placed under arrest and charged with no registraiton plates or receipt, no insurance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Sparks was lodged at McCracken County Regional Jail.
