On 5-7-22 An Officer with the Benton Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a blue pickup with one working brake light. Upon further investigation K9 Conner and handler, Dep Johnson, were called to the scene where an open air sniff was conducted. K9 Conner alerted and indicated on the truck at which time officers located approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine from Michelle Owens who was placed under arrest.
Stemming from this arrest BPD officers obtained a search warrant for 805 Poplar St where 97.6 grams (3.4oz) of cocaine, 1 gram of meth, as well as an assortment of pills and paraphernalia were located. Cirilo Monjaras of 805 Poplar St was arrested for the aforementioned narcotics.
BPD was assisted by the Marshall County SO and K9 Conner
