The Lady Marshals softball team celebrated seniors Charley Pursley and Tia Thorpe before Tuesday’s home game against Crittenden County but weren’t able to pull out a Senior Night win. The Lady Rockets won 6-2, breaking their recent five-game losing streak.

Crittenden County eighth grader Andrea Federico hit an one-run double in the top of the first inning to get the scoring rolling and they held the 1-0 lead until the bottom of the third when they added four more runs on a solo home run by Federico, Jaycee Champion single and two-run double by Aubre Conyer.

Frederico finished off her big night at the plate with her second double in the fifth inning that put the Lady Rockets up 6-0.

Anna Vasseur led off the bottom of the sixth with a single, Chloe Coursey drew a walk and Allicen Harris loaded the bases. A single by Chevelle Henson scored Coursey and the Lady Marshals were on the board.

Vasseur reached base on a two-out walk in the bottom of the seventh, brought to home plate on a hit by Pursley for the Lady Marshals second run of the night.

The loss went to Thorpe, back in the circle after surgery on a broken nose, who pitched the first three and two thirds innings. The win went to eighth grader Anna Boone who allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings.

The Lady Marshals will host Paducah Tilghman (12-10) on Thursday.
