April 25, 2022 Vehicle Pursuit leads to Wingo man’s arrest

Sunday afternoon 04-24-22, Graves Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Crane attempted to stop a vehicle after witnessing erratic driving and learning that the registered owner of the vehicle’s license was suspended.
The vehicle, a 2004 blue Ford Ranger sped away after slowing enough for a female passenger to jump from the vehicle with her hands up.
The pursuit began at North 5th Street and Anderson Avenue. the suspect continued onto Ky Hwy 58 East, to Millers Chappell, Bill Road, Golo Road, Brittain Road, Ky Hwy 464, Deward Road, then into a field, into a wooded area. At one point while on Ky Hwy 464, the suspect drove through the parking lot of Bethel Church almost striking two persons standing on the lot.
The suspect’s vehicle was stopped after running through a fence and into a small tree.
The driver exited the vehicle and then fled on foot for approximately 100 yards before being apprehended by Deputy Tyler Crane. A passenger in the vehicle was initially detained and then released.
The suspect was identified as being 26 year old Cole J. Fields of State Route 129 in Graves County.
A quantity of crystal Methamphetamine, electronic scales, and other related items were recovered from Cole’s vehicle.
Cole was also wanted on an outstanding federal arrest warrant charging him with a probation violation warrant.
Deputy Crane was treated for a moderate cut on his hand by a barbed wire fence. Mayfield Graves County EMS provided medical treatment to Deputy Crayne at the scene.
Cole was charged with Methamphetamine Trafficking and Possession, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Wanton Endangerment, Assault, Fleeing or Evading, and other related charges.
He was later taken and lodged at an out of county jail.
