Milling and Paving along KY 1558/Ivey Road in Marshall County starts Monday, May 2

Work to take about a week to complete

PADUCAH, Ky. (April 25, 2022)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans milling and asphalt paving along KY 1558/Ivey Road in Marshall County starting Monday, May 2, 2022.

Paving along the entire length of KY 1558/Ivey Road runs from mile point 0.0 at the KY 408/Oak Level Road intersection extending northward to the KY 348/Symsonia Highway intersection at mile point 0.55, a distance of just over 1/2 mile.

Motorists should be alert for one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.  Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Through traffic should consider an alternate route.  Paving will be on a weather-permitting basis.

Jim Smith Contracting is the prime contractor on this $65,210 highway improvement project.  The target completion date is May 7, 2022.
