Benton, KY – The Marshall County Arts Commission held its annual “Splash of Color” Reception Monday, April 18, 2022 in its art gallery.
Over 200 students, family members and teachers attended the event, which featured the artwork from the following schools: Benton Elementary, Central Elementary, Jonathan Elementary, Sharpe Elementary, Calvert City Elementary, North Marshall Middle and Marshall County High School.
“Talent is alive and well in Marshall County,” exclaimed Ruth Morris, executive director of the Children’s Arts Center. Morris added appreciation to all the art teachers and district staff for their support in making this event a success.
Student artwork will be on display the rest of April. Gallery hours are M-F 9-2. The Gallery will also be open on Saturday, April 30 from 10-2 for the “Mother’s Day Market.”
The mission of the Marshall County Arts Commission is to develop an appreciation in the community for the cultural heritage of the arts; to offer support, encouragement and opportunities to residents involved in the performing and visual arts; and to educate the community in the arts through a balanced exposure to all arts disciplines.
