McCracken County man arrested after theft investigation
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office fielded multiple reports of items being stolen from unlocked vehicles during the daytime hours of Sunday, April 17, 2022. Among the items reported stolen were firearms, electronics, and cash.
On April 18, 2022, Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office acting on information received from different sources, conducted a follow-up investigation at a residence in the Melber area of McCracken County. The investigation ultimately led to the execution of a search warrant. During the search of the residence, Detectives located numerous items that had been reported stolen along with other items that were believed to be stolen. Detectives also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia within the residence. 21-year-old Anthony Jones was identified as being the resident of the property.
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office continues to encourage everyone to keep their vehicles locked. Thefts from unlocked vehicles continues to be an ongoing issue. The simplest and most effective way to combat these types of thefts is to lock your vehicles.
Arrested: Anthony Jones, 21 years old of Melber, KY.
Charges: Receiving Stolen Property Firearm (Class D Felony) 3 Counts
Receiving Stolen Property O/$1000 (Class D Felony) 1 Count
Possession of Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor)
