Calvert City in partnership with Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park hosted a ribbon-cutting and open house at the Kentucky Dam Airport (M34) on April 8.
The open house celebrated recent improvements to the airport and the partnership between Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park and the City of Calvert City.
Kentucky Dam Airport is a huge economic engine in our community with an average of 11,000 aircraft visiting yearly.
The airport offers a 4,000 ft paved, lighted airstrip strategically located close to Kentucky Lake.
20 hangars reside on-site and one hangar is available for rent, all other hangars are currently rented.
Future plans include a wildlife fence, resurfacing the taxi, clearing the approach, and adding campsites and a pavilion.
