
Back on the field after a two-year absence, the Christian Fellowship Eagles are off to a 3-1 start, the best in over 20 years. They opened with a 19-4 win over Fulton City followed by a 18-3 loss to Hickman County. Two more wins this week came over Community Christian 13-3 on Monday and Fulton City 17-2 on Tuesday.
In their 19-4 season-opening win over Fulton City, CFS had 10 hits led by Dawson Hicks who went 3-for-4 with five RBIs, Elijah Grigg 3-for-5 with a double and Brady Fletcher 2-for-4 with four RBIs. The win went to Chance Gaston who worked the first two innings allowing one hit, one run and struck out six.
CFS sealed the win early with an 11-run first inning that began with the bases loaded on singles by Grigg and Gaston and a walk by Carter Space. They led 4-0 before the first out, added another run before the second out followed by six more to cross the plate before leaving three stranded in their first at bat on their way to opening the 2022 season with a W.

The Eagles managed just one hit in their 18-3 loss to Hickman County. The Falcons led off with 11 runs in the top of the first and the Eagles put two on the board in the bottom of the inning when Jayden Kelley was hit by a pitch with bases loaded and Brady Fletcher scored before a double-play ended the inning.
Following a seven-run top of the second for Hickman County, the Eagles added one more run in the bottom of the third, Carter Space scoring on ground ball RBI hit by Bryce Cary.

Monday, the Eagles beat Community Christian 13-3 on six hits. Chance Gaston and Carter Space had two hits a piece. Space hit a couple of doubles and finished with three RBIs. Brady Fletcher earned the win over three innings, allowing two hits, one run and struck out six.
CFS scored two runs in the bottom of the first with two outs on an error and passed ball after putting base runners on following a wild pitch and a couple of walks. The lead grew to 6-0 in the bottom of the second, runs coming in on two CCA passed balls, an error and bases loaded walk by Jayden Kelley.
The three-run bottom of the third began on an RBI by Dawson Hicks, Fletcher scored on an error and a double by Space for a 9-0 lead. They finished the game off in the bottom of the fourth with four more runs on an RBI single by Gaston, Andrew Dunning crossed home plate on an error and Space brought the final two runs in with his second double of the game.

The Eagles followed Monday’s win up with a three-inning 17-2 win over Fulton City. Leading the way at the plate, Chance Gaston and Bryce Cary with two hits each. Gaston hit a double with an RBI and Cary batted in two. Gaston picked up the win from the mound, striking out four while allowing no hits and two runs.
Fulton City struck first with a run in the top of the first, but CFS followed it up with three runs that began on a lead-off double by Gaston who went on to score the Eagles first run on a wild pitch. Brady Fletcher scored on a wild pitch and Dawson Hicks came across after a balk by pitcher TaZiyah Ware.
CFS scored seven runs in the bottom of the second and another seven in the bottom of the third to end the night early for the Bulldogs and win their first game of the Region 1 All “A” Classic.
The Eagles will play at Ballard Memorial (4-3) on Friday.
