The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 16-year-old juvenile Thursday afternoon during a drug investigation in Paducah.
On 03/17/2022 the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office received information from Ballard County Sheriff Ronnie Giles regarding illegal drug activity that was taking place in Paducah. During the investigation, detectives obtained a cell phone number of a person alleged to be selling pills that contained Oxycodone and or Fentanyl in Paducah.
As part of the investigation detectives arranged to purchase some of the pills from the suspect. The suspect, later identified as 16 year old juvenile, arrived to sell the pills at a gas station in Paducah near the intersection of 8th and Park Avenue. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident at approximately 4:30pm. During a search of the juvenile detectives located a loaded handgun concealed in his/her waistband and approximate 50 pills suspected to contain Oxycodone and Fentanyl. In the recent past detectives have seized similar counterfeit Oxycodone pills that later tested positive for Fentanyl.
Several Opioid overdoses in the Paducah/McCracken County area have been linked to pills like these.
The juvenile in this case was lodged in the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Ballard County Sheriff Ronnie Giles for taking the initiative to contact our office with this information that ultimately led to this arrest.
