
Christian Fellowship’s Lady Eagles have opened their 2022 softball season at 1-1. Following a 7-4 scrimmage loss to Community Christian, they split their first two games this week starting with a 9-0 loss to Mayfield followed by a 1-0 win over St. Mary.
CFS finished last season 12-10 and are under the direction of Coach Trevor Jackson in his ninth season with the Lady Eagles.
In Tuesday’s 9-0 loss to Mayfield, CFS couldn’t get things rolling offensively. Jo Jo Fox earned a no-hitter for Mayfield with 10 strikeouts. Mayfield led 2-0 through the first four innings, then scored seven runs over the last three.
Jayden Jackson, on the mound for CFS, allowed seven hits, nine runs and struck out five batters. Fox was 2-for-3 at the plate and Kaitlyn Simpson hit a triple and had three RBIs to lead Mayfield.

Rhema Howard crossed the plate in the bottom of the fifth to score the Lady Eagles only run in Thursday’s 1-0 win over St. Mary. The win came on three hits led by Howard and Jackson with a double each.
On the mound, Jackson allowed seven hits in the shutout while striking out seven. Kaitlynn Burrus took the loss for St. Mary, allowing three hits, and struck out 11. Kendall Shaw hit a double and Burrus a triple to lead St. Mary at the plate.
