
Marshall County opened the outdoor track and field season on Tuesday, hosting the All-Comers meet. Team wins went to the Lady Marshals and Marshals among the eight competing.
Seven first place finishes were recorded by the girls’ team starting with Charley Pursley in the 100 meters (13.91) and Leah Vincek a double-winner in the 200 meters (29.56) and 800 meters (2:34.75). More firsts came from Laney Evans in pole vault (8-06), Katelyn Ringstaff in the long jump (13-10.75), Bailey Allred in shot put (31-06) and Georgia Hall won discus (94-08).
The boys team finished first in five events. Preston Lamb won the 800 meters (2:10.60), Jack Johnson in pole vault (9-00), Cole Mills won long jump (18-11) and Ben Fiser took two wins in shot put (51-09) and discus (153-07).
An abbreviated line up of events kicked off the first outdoor meet.
They will be back on the track in competition on Tuesday, Mar. 22 at the Calloway County Quad Meet.
