Deputy Hayden was approached by a male subject, who began demanding to speak with a judge.

On March 13, 2022, at approximately 11:40 am, McCracken County Deputy Jon Hayden was parked outside the McCracken County courthouse. Deputy Hayden was approached by a male subject, who began demanding to speak with a judge. During this encounter, the male subject exhibited signs of being under the influence. The male was not compliant with deputies and refused to provide his name or any information as to why he needed a judge. He was ultimately identified as Christopher Bumphus, 36, of Paducah. Bumphus was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. During a search he was also found in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.

Bumphus was arrested and walked into McCracken County Regional Jail.

Charges :

Public Intoxication – Controlled substance

Possession controlled substance 1st deg, 1st offense (methamphetamine)

Drug paraphernalia – buy/possess

Failure to appear warrant for prior drug offenses.
