Orene Johnson, 101, of Arlington, KY; formerly of the Berkley community, passed away at 8:27 AM on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at her residence in Arlington.
Orene was of the Baptist faith, she loved her family (especially those who called her “Mammie”), she had a love of gardening and cooking for those she loved.
Orene is survived by her daughters, Ann Turner of Arlington, KY and Ryhuna (Larry) Logsdon of Fairdealing, KY; a sister, Dathol Moss of Wickliffe, KY; six grandchildren, Cindy (Charlie) Cannon of Arlington, KY, Ken (Lisa) Turner of Greenfield, TN, Theja (Craig) Bult of Louisville, KY, Jason (Michelle) Logsdon of Paducah, KY, Tabitha (Michael) Thomas of Fairdealing, KY & Beth (Steven) Jetton of Benton, KY; 14 great-grandchildren, Amanda (Darren) Warren of Melber, KY, Jenna Cannon of Arlington, KY, Steven Turner, Thomas Turner & Erica Ramsdell all of Clinton, KY, Brittany Scheer & Austin Scheer both of Louisville, KY, Jaret Logsdon & Molly Logsdon both of Paducah, KY, Violet Thomas & Oliver Thomas both of Fairdealing, KY & Lakyn Dodge, Levi Jetton & Landon Jetton all of Benton, KY; thirteen great-great grandchildren, Delanie, Abree, Kannon, Emory, Stella, Mallory, Zoey, Annaleigh, Jamilynn, Jeremy, Damien, Jayson & Isaiah; she also is survived by several nieces & nephews.
Orene was preceded in death by her parents, Amos & Minnie Long Thomason; her husband of 53 years, Jewell E. Johnson; three daughters, Sylvia Johnson, Cindia Johnson & Joyce Johnson; one sister, Norene Thomason, three brothers, Herschel Thomason, William Thomason & Glyn Thomason; one son-in-law, Frank Turner and one great-grandson, Deacon Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Arlington, KY with Rev. Larry Logsdon & Rev Jason Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow at Berkley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
