Henry G. Bennett passed from this world on March 2nd, 2022 at home at age 89 as a loving husband and father, a friend to all who knew him. He attended the Mayfield First United Methodist Church. He was from a past generation that enveloped hard work, honesty, trust with a handshake with strong, independent moral values.

He was such a gifted mechanic and builder. He could fix, build, or repair anything. Over his lifetime, he had enjoyed hunting quail locally, hunting pheasant in South Dakota, building and racing stock cars ,(“Roho” was his favorite.) golfing, and riding his scooter in Mayfield to Hardees for breakfast with his friends.

He served in the Army in 1953 during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany driving trucks and ambulances. He was released with an honorable discharge. After returning home, he married his true love, Ruby Doris Stephenson, in 1956. He owned the Exxon Station on Farthing St. in Mayfield in the 60’s and then on to own his own shop, Bennett’s Alignment for over 25 years, until he retired. He was well known as one of the best in his day at wheel alignment and trusted for his quality work.

After he retired, he kept busy and active riding his scooter in town and mowing his lawn until age 87.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Doris, and his daughter, Vicki Bennett Moreno (Sid) of Moorpark, California. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Brandon, Jessica, Matthew, and Grace, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Lear Bennett, and Ray Bennett, and his sister, Beverly Carlisle.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00PM Saturday March 5, 2022 at Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery in Pryorsburg, KY. Rev. Joey Reed will officiate. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY is in charge of arrangements.
