Peggy Ann Vasseur Powell, 82, of Benton, KY passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Lake Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on April 12, 1939 in Marshall County to the late Raymond and Bessie Vasseur. Peggy was truly a selfless person who had a way of making everyone feel special. It always brought her a lot of joy to be able to help and serve other people any chance that she could. She worked for over forty years as an LPN for both Dr. Harold King and Dr. Paul Schaper before retiring. After she retired, one of the things she was really proud of was being a part of Dennis English’s pit crew while he was racing in ARCA. Peggy loved cooking and everyone will always remember her for her fried pies, fried chicken, biscuits and many of her other signature dishes. More than anything else she loved all of her family and enjoyed going to church at Zion’s Cause Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Ronda Chambers (Bobby) of Paducah and Tammi LaManna of Corsicana, TX; one sister Robbie Jean Thomasson; four grandchildren, Ellie Chambers, Emily Chambers, John Chambers, and Justis LaManna; and a special nephew, Cody Dycus.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Sue Harris, Betty Donohoo, Eleanor Noles, and Elwanda Puckett; two brothers, Dwight Vasseur and Billy Roe Vasseur; and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home. Bro. Charles Frazier will officiate and burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home.
