
Born Monday, December 29, 1930 in Marshall County, KY, he was the son of the late Martin Luther Poe and the late Hallie Comet (Reeves) Poe. He was the husband of the late Rose Madeline (Dawes) Poe.
He was a retired chemical operator at B.F. Goodrich/Westlake Monomers in Calvert City, KY and was a graduate of Sharpe High School, a graduate of Paducah Junior College with an Associate of Arts.
He honorably served his county in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church, Calvert City, KY.
Surviving are his children, son, Gregory Poe of Reddick, FL, daughters, Toni Tucker of Calvert City, KY and Gina Darnall, husband Bryan of Benton, KY; three grandchildren, Gatlin Darnall of Paducah, KY, Adam Dublin of Benton, KY and Emily Lindsey of Paducah, KY. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Haylee Welch of Paducah, KY and Logan Shekell of Paducah, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by two brothers, Bobby Poe and L.E. Poe, one sister, Vanda Voisine.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fooks Cemetery, Mount Moriah Road, Benton, KY with Elder Robert Chandler officiating. Interment will follow the service.
No public visitation will be held.
