Lady Marshals dispatch Tilghman in 70-27 win

During a timeout, the Lady Marshals talk things over in Friday’s game at Paducah Tilghman.

Eleven different Lady Marshals scored in Friday’s 70-27 win over Paducah Tilghman but it was Halle Langhi who led the charge with 25 points followed by Skylar Waller with 18. It was the 11th straight win over the Lady Tornados dating back to the 2015-16 season.

All 25 of Langhi’s points came in the first half, starting with a 13-point first quarter. Langhi and Waller, who had 10 first quarter points dominated the scoring to build a 25-3 lead. All three of Tilghman’s points came on free throw from junior Diamond Gray.

The Lady Marshals were up 35-4 before Tilghman scored their first field goal of the game. The lead stretched to 30 points at 41-11 on a full court pass from Mia Teague to Waller who laid it in and they took a 47-13 lead into the half.

With the first basket of the second half, the running clock was in play. The Lady Marshals out-scored Tilghman 23-14 in the half on their way to a 43-point win.

A challenge awaits tonight when the Lady Marshals host McCracken County (20-1). They suffered a 56-34 loss to the Lady Mustangs on Jan. 4 and will be looking to even the series. They will be off most of the week before Friday’s game at Christian Fellowship followed by a Saturday game at home against Apollo.
