With Many Goals Accomplished, But More to Complete, Marshall & Calloway County Chief Circuit Court Judge, Jamie Jameson, Officially Files for Re-Election.
Benton/Murray, KY (Nov 19th, 2021) – Current Chief Circuit Court Judge for Marshall &
Calloway Counties, Jamie Jameson, has officially filed for re-election. The necessary
documentation was filed with the Ky. Secretary of State’s office last week, placing Judge
Jameson on the ballot for the 2022 May primary. Jameson was elected to the position of Circuit
Judge during a 2015 special election caused by the retirement of, then Judge, Dennis Foust, who
is now the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the counties Judge Jameson serves.
“It is such a privilege to be in this position serving our community along side my predecessor
and many others like him who are tackling the woes that substance addiction is imposing on our
neighbors and loved ones,” said Jameson. “We have worked with local churches and other
organizations that all but donate their time to bring substance abuse treatment options to our
community that, prior to 2015, did not exist; especially in Marshall county,” Jameson continued.
“I look forward to continue working with the other members of our local justice system, other
elected officials, and the members of our caring community to continue to see that justice is done
while at the same time substance abuse treatment is made available sooner and sooner in the
criminal justice process.”
During his time as Circuit Court Judge, Jameson has worked tirelessly within the Marshall &
Calloway county communities to ensure the serious matters that come through Circuit Court
(e.g., larger law suits, Felony criminal cases, and many other important actions), are given
appropriate attention, while also working to tackle the drug trafficking trade that comes through
our area. Jameson’s first term, which began in 2015, has brought everything he promised during
his campaign: new forward-looking ways of tackling addiction in the court system, appropriate
sentences for persons that would bring drugs into our community, and a “it takes a village”
approach to tackling today’s courtroom challenges by coordinating with local agencies,
legislators, and other partners to help create a more homogenized civil and criminal justice
system for Marshall & Calloway counties.
With more still to do, however, Judge Jameson filed for re-election so that he may finish the
mission; the next step in the mission being the construction and operation of two 100-bed
inpatient substance abuse treatment facilities in our area with assistance from local and state
partners, as well as private business and citizens. Judge Jameson is now Chief Circuit Judge for
Marshall & Calloway counties, presides over the Drug Court for both counties, is a member of
the Ky. Circuit Judge Association’s Education Committee, and was appointed by the Supreme
Court to the Continuing Judicial Education Commission that oversees matters pertaining to
continuing education by Kentucky’s Judges across the Commonwealth.
