Born Monday, July 23, 1928 in Hardin, KY, she was the daughter of the late Claude W. Hurt and the late Ruth (Barnhart) Hurt. She was the wife of 48 years to the late John Darrell Starks.
She was a retired cook from Jonathan Elementary School and was a member of Fairdealing Church of Christ.
Surviving are her children, Darrell W. Starks of Grand Junction, CO, Gary D. (Lisa) Starks of Murray, KY, Denita Starks (Mark) McElyea of Athens, AL, Craig S. Starks of Fairdealing, KY; grandchildren, Melissa Grace (James) Starks, Rick Deron Starks and Marie Elizabeth McElyea.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Noble Hurt, Paul Hurt, Wilson Hurt, Bobby Hurt, sisters, Floy Mae Brooks and Julia Avanell Hurt.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Edwards Cemetery, Benton, KY. Mark Ray will officiate.
No public visitation is planned.
Collier Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY are handling the services.
