Kicking off the 2021 season against Paducah Tilghman – their season-opening opponent for the ninth straight year – the Marshals topped the Tornadoes for the ninth straight time, ending things early in a 10-0 decision halfway through the second half on a warm muggy Monday evening at Colburn Stadium.
Following a 7-0 shut-out over Tilghman by the JV Marshals, the varsity squad hit the pitch, scoring their first goal of the season less than eight minutes in by senior Kian Court off an assist by fellow senior William Lynch.
After a few powerful shots on goal by Lynch missed the mark, the 2020 Player of the Year proceeded to knock in the next three Marshall County goals for a first half hat-trick to put the Marshals up 4-0 – his third coming on a penalty kick.

Court scored his second goal of the game on an assist from Collin Riley which was followed up by the sixth goal of the first half by Jeremy Jaco on an assist from Jackson Boone.
The Marshals continued to dominate possession of the ball in the second half, scoring four goals in the first 15 minutes from Jack Noles on a Jericoh Evans assist, Lynch with his fourth goal of the night, John Wood and Logan Parker for the 10-0 mercy rule early end to the game.
The first district game comes on Thursday when the Marshals host Mayfield in a double header with the Lady Marshals who kick off their 2021 season.
