Alfred Davenport, 82, of Kevil, formerly of Wickliffe, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Mercy Health-Lourdes in Paducah.
Alfred was born at home in Wickliffe on October 29, 1938 to the late Jeff and Della Mae Davenport. He worked as an operating engineer, was a member of the IUOE Local 181 and retired from the Carbon Plant in Wickliffe. Alfred loved to dance, especially the jitterbug. He also enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and watching dirt track racing. Alfred was a member of Grace Valley Baptist Church in Kevil.
He is survived by his by his wife of 63 years, Eurbaleen Sullivan Davenport of Kevil; his daughter, Anissa Johnson and husband, Ken of Kevil; five grandchildren, Channing Davenport (Jennifer) of Mayfield, Ashley Venegonia (Ben) of Springfield, IL, Shawn Johnson of Kevil, Crystal Thompson of Paducah, Johnathan Thompson of Kevil; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter Davenport, Kaden and Graham Venegonia, and Braegan Anthony.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rickey Alfred Davenport; his parents; and two brothers, William Davenport and Kirby Davenport.
A funeral service for Alfred will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Glen Crowe officiating. Burial will follow at Wickliffe Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
