Anna Ruth Holland MacBean, 60

Anna Ruth Holland MacBean, 60, originally of Murray, died Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota after a courageous battle.

Anna was born October 8, 1960, in Gilbertsville, Kentucky, to Rudy Holland and the late Ruth Rowland Holland. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Dallas and Willie Mae Holland and Claud and Valera Rowland, and parents-in-law, Halford and Nadine Beane, all of Murray.

She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Ken Mark MacBEAN, children Nathan MacBain and Andrea Lewis and families, of Virginia. She is also survived by her father Rudy Holland, sister Beth Brubaker, and brother David Holland, all of Murray, brother-in-law Allan Beane of Texas, and sister-in-law Angela Williams of Paducah.

A graduate of Marshall County High School and Murray State University, Anna continued her education at Mississippi University for Women, Mississippi State University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and Liberty University. Anna was a Biologist, Landscape Architect, and a gifted teacher for classrooms in Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Virginia. She enjoyed sharing her love of creation with her students and looked forward to returning to the classroom. She clearly appreciated her role as an educator in facilitating the natural process of life-long learning of her students. Anna played both classical guitar and saxophone and enjoyed her band experiences at MCHS. She traveled extensively with her family and visited most of North America with them. Anna was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. While residing in Murray, Anna attended Westside Baptist Church.

Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North. Burial will follow at the Holland Cemetery (Holland Cemetery Road, Murray, KY).

The family will receive visitors Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
