Betty Turner, 92, of Benton, KY passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Betty was born on October 8, 1928 in Eva, TN to the late James and Lottie Lorine Goodman Melton. Betty was a 1946 graduate of Benton High School and spent 20 years working as a nurse at Dr. McClain’s office. After working as a nurse, she spent many years as a secretary for the carpenters union. She was a member of Hamlet Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Burneda Koenig of Almo, KY; one grandson, Sean Hunter McElwayne, and one son in law, Butch McElwayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Paul Turner; one daughter, Connie McElwayne; four sisters, Sue Miller, Nancy Allen, Jane Hiland, and Barbara Peck; two brothers, James Faye Melton and Bobby Ray Melton; and her parents.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Dunn Cemetery with Bro. Alan Miller officiating.
