Martha Mae Hobgood, 79 of Benton, KY died on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Marshall County Hospital.
Born Friday, May 15, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Roy Gregory and the late Ethel (Dyke) Gregory.
Martha Mae was very faithful to her community including, but not limited to, Blood River Association Pantry, Marcella’s Kitchen, Homemakers clubs, Red Hatters clubs. She was also very dedicated member of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief for many years. Her life was full as she always served in some capacity, whether sewing, babysitting, cooking, crafting, baking, gardening, smiling, listening, and especially, loving. She was a member of Briensburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jerry K. Hobgood of Benton, KY; son, Greg Hobgood wife Teri of Paducah, KY; daughters, Diana Branthoover husband Ron of Bakersfield, CA, Lydia Dorn husband Root of Greenville, SC; two grandchildren, Jackson Hobgood of Franklin, TN and Ella Kate Hobgood of Benton, KY and her bonus grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and youngest daughter, Marti Hobgood.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June, 1 2021 at Briensburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Walker and Rev. Dale Taylor officiating.
Interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Briensburg Baptist Church.
