Jay “Jay Bird” Brandon Manley was born 7 weeks premature in Louisville, KY on December 9, 1986 to Craig and Teresa Manley. He grew to be a big man standing 6’4”. Over his short 34 years, he was athletic, a fisherman, a welder, a BBQ pitmaster, and a gamer. He was witty, kind, and would give the shirt off his back for anyone.

Jay was a 2005 graduate of Marshall County High School. After high school he went on to attend West Kentucky Community and Technical College where he received his associates degree in welding. After college he spent some time working out of the Laborer’s Union in Paducah and most recently worked at 4 Little Pigs where he helped manage the restaurant alongside his family. Jay was a member of Briensburg Baptist Church.

Jay could light up the room and have you in tears of laughter. He never met a stranger, and would go out of his way to help a fellow friend. He loved his family and he loved the Lord. His hugs and beautiful hands were a gift from “Daddy Frank”. He will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. There is coming a day!

Jay is survived by his parents, Craig and Teresa Manley; his brother, Derek Manley (Angie); his sister, Allison Manley; his nephew, Gavin Manley; his grandmother, Ann Waggoner; his aunts, uncles, and several cousins.

Jay is preceded by his maternal grandfather, Frank Waggoner; and his paternal grandparents, Eskel and Henrietta Manley.

A funeral service for Jay will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home with Bro. Randy McDaniel and Bro. Monte Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Marshall County Memory Garden.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home.
