Blair Travis with the City of Calvert joined WCBL recently on Coffee Call. She says there are lots of events happening this year in Calvert, including Food Truck Fridays starting this Friday, April 30^th from 10:30 am ’til 1:30 pm in Memorial Park. This Saturday, May 1^st it’s “Kites over Calvert” at Dr’s Park behind the Library. Free kites as long as they last. Saturday, May 8^th will be cleanup day at the same park, so you can bring old tires, oils, paints, antifreeze and old prescription drugs among other things. And Blair says the really big event this year is the Sesquicentennial, a celebration during the 4^th of July commemorating Calvert’s 150 years of existence.
