
Monday morning at Marshall County High School, Cayson Conner signed her Letter of Intent to continue her basketball career with the Murray State University Women’s Basketball program under Head Coach Rechelle Turner.
A member of the Lady Marshals team for four years, Cayson joined the prestigious 1,000 point club at Marshall County, finishing her career with 1,482 points making her the eighth leading scorer in program history.
Cayson is a two-time All-Purchase Team member and two-time Region 1 Tournament MVP. In her senior year, she led the Lady Marshals in points with 377, steals with 76, and assists with 124. She was named KABC Region 1 Player of the Year, Kentucky Miss Basketball finalist and named to the 2021 KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 All-Tournament team.
As a senior, Cayson has led the Lady Marshals in back-to-back regional titles and a runner-up finish in the KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 State Basketball Tournament.
In addition to her basketball accomplishments, Cayson is also a six-year member of the Lady Marshals softball team where she has helped lead them to two Region 1 titles.
Cayson is the third of the last four Player of the Year winners for Region 1 that Coach Turner has added to her roster at MSU.
Cayson is the epitome of a student-athlete – she is a multisport athlete and has maintained a 4.18 GPA. Her hard work this year has earned her the personal recognition that she deserves. Her ability to have a smile on her face while playing extremely hard throughout her career as a Lady Marshal has made her a role model for all young girls in Marshall County and has won over the hearts of an entire community.
