Edwin “Eddie” Hayes Thomasson, 68, of West Paducah, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his home.
Eddie was born in Paducah on January 27, 1953 to the late Ollie and Mildred Thomasson. He worked as a produce manager at local grocery stores. Eddie was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball and UK basketball fan. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. He was a maker of dad jokes having quite the sense of humor making people laugh. Eddie will be remembered as a helpful, generous and selfless man. He was once the Music Ministry and Youth Leader at Baptist Tabernacle. Eddie was a member of Southland Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Gail Moore of West Paducah; two sons, Matthew Thomasson (Corrinne) and Trent Simmons (Beth Ann); one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Adams (Toby) all of Paducah; six sisters, Mary Louise Edwards, Martha Franklin, Geraldine Nall, Sandra Boulton, Patricia Whalen, Millie Ray; four brothers, Arvel Thomasson, Harold Thomasson, Billy Thomasson, Rick Thomasson; six grandchildren, Elizabeth and Madalyn Thomasson, Nikki Johnson, Danna Radovich, Chris Goins, Tyler Adams, Dean Haden, Taylor Goodin; four great-grandchildren, Chase and Brighton Johnson and Miya and Chloe Radovich; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clarence Thomasson and Buddy Thomasson.
A funeral service for Eddie will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jimmy Franks officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery in West Paducah.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
