Eagles improve to 15-5, begin week with wins over Livingston and Fulton City

Wins on Monday and Tuesday over Livingston Central and Fulton City improved the CFS Eagles record to 15-5 and they have won 10 of their last 11 games.

Against Livingston Central, the Eagles were led in scoring by Andrew Dunning with 24 points, Andrew Allen with 15 and 13 from Luke Grigg. John Barnes led Livingston Central with 22 points along with 21 from Max Downey. Nineteen 3-pointers found the net between the two team – Barnes with seven for the Cardinals and Dunning dropped in six for CFS.

CFS led 30-24 at halftime but Livingston cut the lead down to four points heading into the fourth quarter. Tied up 64-64 with five seconds remaining, Dunning in-bounded the ball to Isaac Hovekamp who passed to Allen. Allen sent it to Elijah Grigg who laid it in for the buzzer-beater win.

They followed that up with a 76-68 win on Tuesday over Fulton City, led again in scoring by Dunning with 27 points, 19 coming in the first quarter to stretch out an early 27-9 lead.  Allen scored 21 and Luke Grigg 14. Dunning and Allen combined for seven of the Eagles 10 made 3-pointers – Dunning with four and three for Allen. Fulton City was led by two players with 17 points, Kabrian Burton and Amire Hobbs.

The Eagles will host Fulton County on Friday.
