Franklin Dennis, 84

Franklin Dean Dennis, age 84, of Wickliffe, entered into eternal rest at 4:50 AM on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his residence.

Dean was born on October 13, 1936 in Ballard County to the late Zack and Fairy Crews Dennis. He was a member of Wickliffe First Baptist Church. Dean retired from his work as a union electrician from the Illinois Local #702 as well as the Paducah Ironworkers Local #782 and the Paducah Laborers Local #1214. He was mostly known for his commercial fishing business that he operated for over 25 years on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers called J & D Fish Market.

Dean is survived by his wife of 63 years, Reva Jean Stroud Dennis of Wickliffe; two sons, Chuck Dennis of Cunningham and Ricky Dean Dennis of Wickliffe; one sister, Gloria Jean Morgan of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Joe and Randy Gene Dennis; one sister, Shirley Bone; three brothers, Gary Lynn Dennis, Paul Glen Dennis and Nat Dennis; and his parents.

Funeral services for Dean will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Rev. Dee Hazelwood officiating. Burial will follow at Wickliffe City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the funeral home.
