Doris Marie Turner Ballard, age 72, of Kirbyton, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at her home.
Doris was born in Graves County on March 24, 1948 to the late Burnett Lee and Edrie White Turner. She was a longtime member of Kirbyton Baptist Church. Doris loved to sew, especially quilting and embroidery. Her other hobbies included working on word search puzzles and playing video games. Doris loved to listen to gospel music and her favorite artist was Alan Jackson.
Doris is survived by her son, Johney Loyd Ballard and wife, Betsy of Kirbyton ; daughter, Jennifer Leigh Blakemore of Paducah; two sisters, Donna Jean Lovett of Sherman, Texas; Barbara Ann Barnhill of Symsonia, KY; four brothers, William Raye Turner of Paducah, Kenneth Wayne Turner of Mayfield, Jerry Dale Turner of Milburn and J.W. Turner of Wingo; four grandchildren, Charles Matthew Ballard and wife, Tristan of Kirbyton, Justin Isac Ballard and wife, Danielle of Smithland, Keristen Leigh Ann Patterson of Kirbyton and Devin Maurice Blakemore of Paducah; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Loyd Ballard; four sisters, Ruth Faye Stanifield, Patricia Dean Cissell, Rosa Lee Kennemore, Carolyn Sue Paschall; two brothers, Terrell B. Turner and Harold Junior Turner; and her parents.
A graveside service for Doris will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Kirbyton Cemetery with Rev. Rod Martin officiating. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the funeral home.
