Ethel Axley, 88

Ethel Bell Woods Axley, age 88, of Wickliffe, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Clinton-Hickman ICF.

Ethel was born on January 28, 1932 in Carlisle County to the late William David and Iva McDaniel Woods. She was a member of Wickliffe First Baptist Church. Ethel loved to cook and enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing. She also enjoyed spending time at the Ballard County Senior Center loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ethel is survived by her son, Roger Reeves and wife, Debra of Cunningham; one brother, Charles Woods and wife, Sara of Mayfield; three grandchildren, Deanna Picklesimer and husband, Derek, Beverly Webb and husband, Jerrod and Amanda Farmer and husband, Aaron; and four great-grandchildren, Haley, Austin, Gavin and Noah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Axley; one son, Charles “Eddie” Reeves; three sisters, Virginia Workman, Lorene Ray and Naomi Cherry; three brothers, Pete, Arnold and Paul Woods; and her parents.

Funeral services for Ethel Axley will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Rev. Lynn Redford and Rev. Butch Latta officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the service time of 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the funeral home.
