Harold Blaine, 78

Mr. Harold Ray Blaine, 78, of Benton, Kentucky, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020.

A native of Berea, Kentucky, Harold was the son of the late Floyd and Arlene Godfrey Blaine. He was a 1960 graduate of Livingston Central High School. Harold was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Tennessee Valley Authority and a member of Operating Engineers Local 181. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Benton.

Harold was a star player on the Cardinals baseball team at Livingston Central and also played in the Twin States Baseball League. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball team. Harold was a gentle soul and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 23 year, Gulsen Ulucan Blaine; two sons, Scott (Janet) Ford, of Atlanta, GA and Sean (Stephanie) Ford of Gilbertsville, KY; two daughters, Melissa (Mitch) Culp of Benton, KY and Sabrina (Matt Elms) Ford of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Kathryn Lasher of Paducah, KY, Ann Draffen of Benton, KY, and Jean Morrison of Lexington, SC; and six grandchildren, Madison Culp, Maggie Culp, Keadon Ford, Skyler Ford, Maizie Ford, and Ford Elms.

Mr. Blaine was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Darlene Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 20th, 2020 in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home, 211 West Fifth Street, Benton, KY. Bro. Joel Frizzell will officiate with interment to follow in Hampton Cemetery in Livingston County.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 20th, 2020 at the funeral home.
