Wanda Vailes, 89

Wanda Vailes, age 89, of Grand Rivers, KY passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at her daughter’s home.

Mrs. Vailes was born in in Wheatcroft, KY on December 2, 1930 to the late John Henry and Beulah Beckner. She was a housewife and member of Grand Rivers Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society.

Wanda loved to camp and travel. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing. She was an avid vegetable gardener who loved flowers, especially African Violet’s. She was and adoring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved her dog, Miley.

Wanda is survived by two daughters, Nancy Allred of Benton, KY and Jayne Timmons of Kuttawa, KY; two sons, Alan Vailes (Marilyn) of Murray, KY and Dennis Vailes (Frankie) of Marion, KY; six grandchildren, Shannon Ordunez (Jesse), Jimmy Neal (Kristen), Todd Neal (Elizabeth), Melina Hargrove (Justin), Dena Leonard (Kyle), and Emily Lamb (Jordan); ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Oscar Vailes, Jr.; her parents; one son, Roger Vailes; and one brother, Alvah Beckner.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Dixon Cemetery with Bro. Mark Gill officiating.

Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr is in charge of arrangements.
