Caregiver Tips
- Using books and stories to help children think of their own solutions to problems helps them develop problem-solving skills. Researchers have found that having ideas for tackling problems helps children in learning new tasks and handling social situations.
- Identify the shapes you see and talk about them with your children. Circles and triangles are often parts of letters. Being able to see shapes will help children later recognize letters.
- Be sure to share factual books with young children. Follow their interests! The information in non-fiction books introduces new vocabulary words, and we learn right along with our children!
