The remnants of Hurricane Laura is projected to pass directly over Kentucky Friday & Saturday. The National Weather Service (NWS) notes that “This system will produce widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. This could lead to localized flooding where the higher rainfall amounts fall.”
Heavy rainfall is possible Friday and into Saturday with 1-3 inches and heavier amounts in some of our local areas. Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and tornados are also possible. Gusty winds up to 30 mph are expected outside of storms.
