MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital’s Blood Donor Center is in need of all blood types, but especially B-POSITIVE, A-NEGATIVE AND O-NEGATIVE BLOOD at this time. Area residents are given the opportunity to donate blood by attending one of the upcoming blood drives open to the community, or by making an appointment at the Blood Donor Center, which is located on the first floor of the Medical Arts Building, East Wing, beside the Medical Arts Pharmacy at Murray Hospital.
The constant supply of blood provided locally to the Center gives the gift of life to many people, and takes less than an hour to complete. MCCH’s Blood Donor Center is one of only two hospital-based donor centers in Kentucky, which means the blood drawn from our community stays in our community.
A blood donor must be at least 18 years of age (or 16-17 with parental consent), be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and pass the brief physical and health history exams given prior to donation.
The need for blood donors is always needed and always appreciated. To donate, please contact the Blood Donor Center to schedule a time, or visit us on the following dates at the specified locations:
-
Wednesday, September 2nd & Wednesday, September 16th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the North Tower Entrance of Murray-Calloway County Hospital at 803 Poplar Street (across from Murray High Football Field)
