Jennifer Brown, the Public Health Services Manager with the Marshall County Health Department was a recent guest on WCBL’s Coffee Call program. Brown says this year has been unlike any other, but that health departments have been preparing for times like these for several years. And as we get closer to fall, Brown encourages you to get your flu shot this year when they become available, which should be soon. And she says most everyone, with only a few exceptions, should get a flu shot. She says the COVID-19 pandemic continues and right now it is difficult to know how long it will last. And even once a vaccine is available, it will take a long time before everyone can be vaccinated. Brown says Marshall County has been able to keep their number of COVID-19 cases down, and reminds people to keep doing the things like washing hands, social distancing and wearing a mask.
