Connie Prather, 69

Connie Darnall Prather, 69, of Mayfield, KY, formerly of Benton, KY passed away on August 14, 2020 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.

Connie was born in Benton, KY on March 18, 1951 to the late Garland Stanley Darnall and Rosebud Thompson Darnall. Connie attended Murray State University where she studied to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. After college she spent many years working at both Britthaven of Benton and Heritage Manor Health Care Center. Her compassion and desire to help care for other individuals undoubtedly made an impact on many of her patients throughout the years. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her family and especially her grandkids. She was a member of New Home Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Amy Prather of Benton, KY; one son, Douglas L. Edwards of Dilliner, PA; one sister, Judy Clark; one brother, Mitchell Phillips; eleven grandchildren, Abigayle Rose Prather, Kayleigh Jo Felts, Lars Edwards, Tristan Edwards, Diego Edwards, Marissa Adams, Caitlyn Adams, Madison Adams, Caleb Adams, Devin Edwards, and Meagan Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Wendell “Cooter” Prather; one son, Adam Clay Edwards; one sister, Linda Kay Phillips; and one brother, Stanley Gale Darnall.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home with Bro. C.W. Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Jackson Starks Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home.
