Luke, a sprinter and thrower, was entering his fourth season with the Marshall County track and field team. Coach Andrew Johnston said Luke is a special kid, super versatile and helped the team out in the 100 meters through 400 meters and could also score in the throws.
According to Coach Johnston, “Luke was the true definition of Student-Athlete. Luke excelled and always prioritized the classroom—maintaining the highest GPA on the team. His hard work and dedication in the class translated to the track. He never fell behind in his workouts and would put in the extra work to make sure his throws didn’t suffer, as well. I never had to worry about Luke and knew he would be a versatile athlete who would help us. Luke will be greatly missed.”
Luke was also a four-year member of the football team, was selected to the All-WKC Team and earned KHSAA Academic All-State First Team honors in track, football and basketball.
Luke is a Presidential Scholar and will continue his education at Murray State University, majoring in Political Science with Legal Issues and Business and plans to attend Law School.
