Benton Mayor Rita Dotson joined us for Coffee Call by phone

Benton Mayor Rita Dotson joined WCBL’s Chris Freeland by telephone on Coffee Call recently. Mayor Dotson said the city services are continuing and she encourages you to support your local businesses including restaurants, lawn and garden and hardware. And she is hopeful that we can begin to return to our normal way of life before too long. And she reminds you to check on your friends, loved ones and neighbors, especially those who live alone because it can be easy to get depressed during this time. Also, she is asking that with this weekend being Easter Sunday that you go out on your porch Sunday morning at 9 and sing Amazing Grace. She is hoping the entire community can take part. And then Sunday afternoon at 1, weather permitting, the Easter Bunny will be riding in one of the city of Benton firetrucks and throwing out Easter Eggs to children. She reminds parents to be sure to keep children in there yards and to not come out to the street. The eggs are being donated by WCCK radio and Lake Chem Community Federal Credit Union.
