William David Meddings, 73, of Kevil, previously of Jenkins, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at his home.
David was born on January 17, 1946 in Jenkins, Kentucky to the late Otto and Gladys Meddings. He was a member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kevil. David worked as a Radiology Technologist with Western Baptist and Saint Francis Medical Center, as well as owning and operating his own company, Meddings Mobile Radiographs. He was also a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
David was a quiet man but with a dry and sharp wit and was known by his children, family and close friends as “papa”. He was an avid fisherman and loved his two dogs, as well as many other dogs over the years. David also had a great love for the American West and would travel with his wife, Ruth, to remote areas of the western part of the U.S. on vacations.
David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Moss Meddings; one daughter, Shannon Meddings and husband, Tim Noe of Denver; one son, Patrick Meddings of Kevil; two nephews, Chuck Leffler and Jeff Meddings.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Musgrave; one brother, Jim Meddings and his parents.
Funeral Services for David will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kevil with Rev. Drew Gray officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
