
Mr. Cassity was retired from B.F. Goodrich and Westlake Monomers where he worked for over 51 years. He was an accountant and head of shipping and receiving when he retired.
He was a veteran of WWII, where he served and was honorably discharged from the Merchant Marines at Sheepshead Bay, NY.
He was of the Methodist Faith.
Born Saturday, April 3, 1926 in Trigg County, KY, he was the son of the late Albert Cassity and the late Gracie Wavel (Higgins) Cassity.
Surviving are son, Anthony Gray Cassity wife Marian of Benton, KY; daughter, Connie Jean Russell husband Mark of Benton, KY; brothers, Albert Cassity, Jr. of Mayfield, KY, Bobby Cassity of Louisville, KY; step grandchildren, Brent Lemon of Lexington, KY, Christi Moore of Paducah, KY; two step great grandchildren, Grant Lemon of Lexington, KY, Anne Hagerman of Paducah, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma E. (Gray) Cassity; brothers, George Cassity, Hayden Cassity, James Cassity; and sisters, Barbara Cassity Queen and Mildred Cassity.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th St, Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. Dr. David Russell officiating.
Interment will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home.
