Marshall County’s cross country teams competed Saturday in the McCracken County Cross Country Invitational at Stuart Nelson Park in Paducah. The boy’s team took the win and the girl’s team finished third.
The top finish for the boys came from Mason Cosner, crossing the line in third place with a time of 16:47, 20 seconds behind first place finisher, Wes Grogan, from McCracken County. Three more top 10 finished for the Marshals came from Ethan McCarty who finished fourth in 17:02, Jackson Miller placed seventh in 17:24.3 and Christian Cosner finished right behind Miller in eighth place in 17:24.5.
St. Mary’s Miranda Gartner won the girl’s 5k race, finishing with a time of 21:08. Gabbi Lovett crossed the line in 21:55 for the Lady Marshals top finish fourth. Kaycee Kemp also finished in the top 10 with a sixth place finishing time of 22:14.
In middle school races, Marshall County’s Kobey Yates took the win in the boy’s race with a time of 14:42. Elizabeth Barret had the top Marshall County finish for the girls in the 4k race, finishing eighth in 19:47.
Marshall County will host the Class 1A, 2A and 3A First Region meet on Saturday, Oct. 26th.
