Marshall County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

Guests included Mrs. Jeffrey Dyer who addressed the park’s Christmas Light display funding for Needline. Dyer spoke of the original donation of the lights to the park that she said included an agreement with the county that the funds collected would go to Needline. Judge/Executive Kevin Neal said the court does not have a copy of an agreement that was made with a previous Fiscal Court.

“The intent is not to take money from any organization”, Neal said, going on to explain the amount of time and money the park and county have put into the light show over those nearly 20 years. The county spends $10,000 annually on the light show.

Parks Director, Britney Heath, explained the process of how the funds from the Christmas Light Show will be dispersed among the county organizations that are brought in to work the light show.
